We Need Volunteers
A member of the board will be leaving our community as soon as his house sells. We need to replace his seat on the board as soon as possible to maintain a quorum of board members. If you have thought about getting involved in your community, now is the time to step forward.
We are also looking for people to serve on one of the various committees. Please see the "About Orenco Gardens" tab for a list of the committees. Please contact Colleen Rathka for further information or if you would like to talk to a board member.
Invasive Grasses in our Lawns
Everyone is aware that the condition of our lawns has been deteriorating over the years. They looked pretty good this weekend now that the fertilizer has kicked in and the broadleaf weeds have been sprayed. But the invasive grasses, mostly Johnson grass, have given the lawns a different look since the first day you moved in.
We’ve heard from a lot of you asking for some solution. Starting in a few weeks, our landscaper will begin killing the invasive grasses. The lawns are going to take a turn for the worse as we begin to bring them back to a lawn that you can enjoy. Depending on the size of the area that was eradicated, the landscaper will either sod or reseed.
